Birdies and a new family member

This sweet lil pincushion I stitched with #8 red variegated pearl cotton, on mottled blue woolfelt.
Meet Charlotte Rose. Our newest family member :o) I always feel like when I make a batch of any kind of starter, I have taken on a dependent! All the feedings and changingstirring. She is a lovely batch of sourdough starter. I have had a craving for breads. I do love me some carbs you know. I had a batch going for several months, 2 years ago. BUT let it "pass away". I was on bunches of antibiotics at the time and got the worst of worst yeast infections in LOTS of places besides THAT place. Not a good combo. Took me two forevers to get all straightened up. Kinda did me in for a bit on sourdough. Well, I have taken my last infusion hopefully for a very long time 2 weeks ago, so we should be good to go.
After I come home from our annual quilting retreat, I plan on making a batch of Amish Friendship Bread starter also. Like I said, we do love our carbs! Speaking of retreats....woooohooooo it is coming soon, May 11th-15th. Cannot wait to see my friends! Such a great group of ladies from all over the US. We have a splendid time. Lots of sewing, laughing and catching up.
I am blessed. ~Angela

I love you new stitched pillow. I also love carbs and that bread, I have not been successful in making it though. I use to have a coworker who would make it and bring everyone a loaf, mine never made it home, I would eat it on the ride :-)

Hi Angela, what a beautiful little pillow! I love red work embroidery. That is the cutest thing, naming your sourdough starter! I know what you mean, it is a lot to keep it going, but there is nothing better than homemade sourdough bread. I enjoy Amish Friendship bread also, we had several friends last year, giving us starters and we were all passing them around. You do lovely crochet and needlework. I have almost completed a crochet shawl I have been working on this month. I have been crocheting since I was about 15 years-old, and started knitting about 10 years ago. There are always still so many fun things to make and learn, I have never gotten tired of it. Hope you have a nice afternoon! Delisa :)

What a DARLING pincushion - that will be a joy to use! Hello to Charlotte Rose, lol. I've had yeast infections like that too - they think years of them might have contributed to my fibro. The best thing I ever did was get the book, The Yeast Connection - I followed the diet, and took all the supplements, and I had so much energy and good health I didn't know what to do with myself. But is it HARD to give up all sugars and breads!

Your pin cushion is beautiful, you're not really going to stick pins in it are you?

OH, I love the homemade breads too and have a problem of eating too much, therefore, we don't have it very often for fear of the yeast too. Gettin' old is no picnic!

p.s. love your stitched pillow:)

That's a very pretty pincushion - someone will be very lucky to receive that :) Sadly I can't embroider, but happily I have a friend who does bits and pieces for me - it's such a gorgeous art!

What a cute pincushion! At first I thought that it was a pillow until I read that it was a pincushion! However, it would make a really awesome pillow too!
