Puttin' Up For Winter

On today's this week's agenda...canning tomato sauce and making apple butter. Both I haven't made in a long time and both we love need. I will let you know how it goes.
Penny and I had a good day Saturday at Farmer's Market. We sold 27 hats plus a couple other things. Not bad for 3 hours, plus set up and tear down time.It is funny how each week it seems one size is the one that everyone wants. And then the next week it is a different size. Here is a pic of some of Penny's yarn. This was taken at a recent show we vendored at.
The mats, I felted from wool. Great hot pads or table toppers.
My lupus is flaring up some right now. Just an all over hurting you cannot get away from. Thinking of trying a new medicine the doctor had suggested. But hate all the side effects that can come with it. The disease is bad enough! Still praying about it and taking what my regular meds.

Pray Monday is the start of a blessed week for everyone.
I am blessed. ~Angela

UGH!

This is me.
Pleurisy and 2 cracked ribs. They say it is from the lupus. I do not have TIME for this nonsense! Just sayin'. The last couple of weeks we have been the bug. Hopefully soon, we will get to be the windshield. :o)

Catchin' up

Isn't this adorable? I received it from Kim in our Autumn Friendship Exchange over at my Hand-Dids group. It is a Crabapple Hill pattern. LOVE it! Some of the embroidery is satin stitch over wool. Really makes it pop! I am still working on her's and my other partner, Vickie. Who has a newly released blog. She has kept it in lurkdom for sometime, but is "out" now. hahaha Send her some blog love if you get the chance.
I have been taking treatments for my liver (It might possibly help my lupus also.). Infusions once a week that are partially chemo, about 1/2. No appetite except for toast and applesauce. Penny picked me up a jar of Nutella and I have only ate out of it once! But my pneumonia is getting better. It just doesn't take much for these junky lungs of mine to get junkier.

My fur babies sunbathing. Timmy is really growing! I had a canning jar of flowers on the dining room table. Had being the key word here. He would pluck one out and then toss it over the edge. Meow his lil head off (He is a major crybaby by the way.) Until he got Toby's attention. Who would promptly chew it up. Teamwork! I can just imagine that he is saying to Toby, " Hey Bubby. Hey Bubby. Wanna lil snackie?? Come and get it!". hahaha They are constantly playing chase and chewing on each other. Timmy starts it just as much as Toby. Poor ole Lydia wants no part of either of them. I am so afraid she is about to go across Rainbow Bridge. She will be 16 next month. That is terribly old for a Persian.

Hopefully we will be zoo bound on Saturday. IFFFFF it isn't rainy as it has been all week since Sunday. Just will have to see what happens.

I am going to be posting about the Quilt Camp/Retreat I am hosting in November 2010 soon. I have hosted an annual one with my Backporch Friends girls since 2001. This one will have those from that group who can make it and is open to the public. It is limited and I have some signed up already. Just want to have my wits about me when I post. Might be a day or so or year! :o)

Loving this drag/resize thingy on the pics. Very handy! Thank you Blogger. This is a great free service. I really appreciate it.

Well off to take another rest. Tootles from a rainy Indiana.

ps: I got my first blog spam today on 3 posts. What is up with that? I just deleted it.

Pneumonia and the Dog Ate My Homework

This is Toby's mugshot. Cause he got sent to puppy jail aka his doggy bedroom/kennel. I had been working on a medallion for my tatting class, had only 1 more complete section left to work and then to just hook it together to make the circle. Went to the potty. Nough said? I thought I had it pushed back on the table far enough. BUT this one with his freakishly long legs managed to get to it. My poor dining room table has the claw marks to prove it! And then there is the tangled mess of crochet thread. I tossed it and didn't even think to take a pic of that!!! Stephen, if you are reading this........... I really did do it!!! And it took me several hours too. I started to cry, then said, whatever. I will do it again. I have the making of the stitches and picots down, it is hard for me to do the joining of the chains and the circles. After that drama/trauma I picked up a hook and started a mini doilie. Need to "walk away" from the tatting for a bit.
And I have pneumonia. Doesn't take much for it to happen, junky lungs (lupus) and all. From a head cold, to a sore throat, to this. The dr listened to my lungs and I had a chest xray and blood test. They called on the xray on the way home. Got a shot and told to rest. LOL That is alllllll I do. I call it resting to be sitting up doing handwork. Don't you?
We are expecting some inches of snow. Have been blessed so far to have had so little.
Everyone stay warm!

Tatting Class Today

I am very excited. I have wanted to learn how to tat for a long time. Years actually. The Old Jail Art Center (photo in previous post), is offering a series of classes that start tonight. And my hands are working. That had been my fear. The lupus keeps moving about and I was afraid the day of the class it would be in my hands. Nope, it is in my feet. Hey as long as I can stumble along, I will be okay. I signed up last month, or maybe in November. The family gave me monies for my birthday to pay for the class too. Gotta love family that loves handmade! So this has made me smile today. Will see what I learn and share tomorrow or tonight when I get home.
The sun is shining here also. That always makes me smile!! I have to go pay a bill and go to the post office. Come one feeties....
So I hope you have something to make you smile today, even if it is just because you woke up to sunshine. Sometimes that is just enough.

Sunshine, flowers and pinwheels!

This is a potted daisy on my patio loving the afternoon sunshine. The day after the "Great Flood". Something like 7-inches of rain in 1 hour! My playhouse got it good. And this is with the sump pump and yard drain pulling it. Just too much, too fast. It is dried out now. We are supposed to have more hard rains over the next few days. Rain good. Hard rain, baaaaaaaaaad. LOL

I made up my Friendship Pinwheels we swapped at Retreat. Not a fancy setting, but it is done. And sometimes that counts more! LOL I used my favorite doggy fabric for the outer border. It is backed in the white on white (wow) that we used for the swap. It was to be 3 different 30's reproduction fabrics and the wow fabric. We all used the same 4-inch paper piece block pattern. I love to paper piece!! Great points every time. I have the mini quilt laying over a friendship star quilt that was made for me many years ago. Both are on a tobacco drying rack.
I had my lungs drained again today. Slept all evening and so now up at 4am. Not nearly as bad as the last time because they didn't do my kidneys at the same time. Just gotta take it easy for a couple of days now and let my ribs settle back. Have some hand work to fiddle with to keep me out of too much trouble. It is so good to be able to embroidery again. I really missed it when I had busted up my hand. Now playing catch up on several small things.

By hook or crook.

I was thinking tonight "What have I made since Christmas?" It seems like I am always working on something. But from my chair mostly. I have spent the whole month of January and this month also crocheting. Mark-scarf and hat, Jaidyn-layette set of sweater and bonnet, 2 pairs of booties, friend-bonnet and booties, cousin John-hat, 4 pairs of dolls socks, complete doll outfit of dress, hat and socks, 4 doilies, Shayla-mittens, Christmas 2009-scarf, grandbaby hope chest-2 booties, sweater and bonnet set, to sell-3 felted mini bags. And there is probably something I have forgotten. Oh the lil red dress hot pad for Liz. That is a whole lot of crocheting! No wonder tonight Mark asked me if I was needing any yarn? He said it was because he thought the gift I had "on the hoook" was about done and wondered what I was going to make next. LOL He knows I have to be doing something or I go bonkers. And right now I am spending most of my time in my recliner. We were talking about what would happen if I lost the sight in my good eye. Maybe I have posted this here before, but I have keratoconus in both eyes, but my left eye is dark now. It is agreed. I would probably be Hellen Keller in the early years. Not the later more gracious ones. But the screaming having a hissy fit ones.

A sweet lady came up to me at church tonight and really blessed me with her testimoney. She had lived with lupus for 10 years and had been healed. Just woke up one day and it was gone! What a miracle. And what a wonderful testimony to share with me on a day I was really feeling pretty bad (am using my cane right now). AND she didnt even KNOW I had lupus!! She just knew I was sick. God is no respector of persons and what He will do for one He will do for all!

"For there is no respect of persons with God," Paul declared (Rom. 2: 11).

Now doesnt that just put a smile in your heart? I hope this encouraged someone today as much as it encouraged me.
